Immigration and Naturalization
IMMIGRANT VISAS
When families are separated by country and geography, we can help bring them back together. Immigrant visas start with a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (someone with a green card) filing a petition to classify someone abroad as a family member or spouse. When that petition is approved, and an immigrant visa becomes available, loved ones must complete a visa application and attend an interview at a US Embassy/Consulate. We assist our clients during every step of this process, making sure that no one is left behind.
GREEN CARDS FOR SPOUSES
Protecting your spouse means making sure that they can stay by your side and have the best opportunity to support your family. That's why we offer services to married couples who are seeking a green card. The process, called adjustment of status, is when a noncitizen with no status or other nonimmigrant status applies to become a permanent resident of the U.S. Obtaining lawful permanent residence (a green card) means being able to live and work in the U.S. indefinitely, without fear of leaving the one you love. This can be a long process, but we can lead you through every step until you and your spouse reach that goal.
FIANCÉ(E) VISAS
Love doesn't know distance or political boundaries, but our immigration system does. Luckily, fiancé(e) visas are a perfect way for couples who are intending to be married to reunite in the United States for their special day. Fiancé(e) visas are a special privilege available only to partners of U.S. citizens, and we can help you navigate the required forms and evidence. With our services, you and your fiancé(e) will be that much closer to tying the knot in the U.S.
ASYLUM AND REFUGEE STATUS
When persecution in your home country is too much to bear, the U.S. may offer you sanctuary. Asylum and refugee statuses may be available to those who are persecuted in their native lands based for who they are and how they live their lives. We are familiar with the diverse struggles of immigrant communities, and we can evaluate your eligibility for asylum or refugee status. For those already receiving protection as an asylee or refugee, we can help you reunite with your family through the visa process. Hardship may have been the start of your immigration story, but with our services, it doesn't have to be the end.
NATURALIZATION
Naturalization is how those with green cards (lawful permanent residents or LPRs) become U.S. citizens. We are naturalization experts, and our lead attorney has helped over 100 people to become citizens through this process. For many clients, becoming a U.S. citizen unlocks benefits and possibilities that were impossible before. Regardless of whether you have criminal history, extended trips outside the U.S., or a complicated immigration past, we can evaluate, advise, and prepare you to pursue the dream of citizenship.
WORK AUTHORIZATION (EAD CARD)
Your ability to support yourself through work is essential to living in the Bay Area. Even though you're not a citizen, you may have status that allows you to work legally, but only with proof of work authorization -- like an EAD card. We offer services to help immigrants apply for work authorization or to renew their existing status. Without unexpired proof that you are authorized to work, you may lose out on your current job -- or any future opportunities. Take charge of your career and let us ensure that your documents are just as prepared as you are.
